is there parking Are these chargeable?
We have parking spaces in the neighboring Heiligenkreuzerhof and in the nearby underground car park at Georg-Coch-Platz (~ 8 minutes’ walk away). Access to the Heiligenkreuzerhof is only possible from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. – exit on the day of departure until 12 p.m. The garage is open 24 hours a day. The price is € 25,- per night in the Heiligenkreuzerhof or € 25,- per 24 hours in the underground car park. You will receive further information upon your arrival at the hotel reception.
Is there internet in the hotel and how much does it cost?
Our WiFi is free and available throughout the hotel. A PC is available to you free of charge in our library on the 5th floor.
Is smoking allowed in the hotel? Is there a dedicated smoking area?
The Kärntnerhof is a non-smoking hotel. Smoking is only permitted on our roof terrace and in front of the hotel (ashtrays are of course available).
Do you have air conditioning in the hotel/restaurant?
All our rooms and suites as well as the salon, the breakfast room and our lobby have air conditioning.
Do you welcome children?
Children are very welcome with us. One child up to 12 years old stays free in a double room. We can provide you with a cot on request, free of charge.
Pets / Are dogs allowed in the hotel?
Yes, small dogs up to 12 kg are allowed. We charge a final cleaning fee of €40 per room and stay, in the Christiane Hörbiger suite €100 per stay. However, please let us know when booking that you are traveling with a dog. Not all rooms are suitable for dogs.
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in our Dom Suite and Madame Rosa Suite!
Is breakfast included in the price and what are the breakfast times?
Yes, our prices include a rich breakfast with selected regional and organic products. Our breakfast is available from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Do you also offer lactose-free and gluten-free products?
Yes, we also offer lactose and gluten-free products at breakfast. These are clearly marked.
Is there a minibar in the room?
No, but various hot and cold drinks and snacks are available at our reception around the clock. You can find our offer on the drinks menu in the room or on our TV info channel.
If you would like to cool medicines, etc., this is also possible. Please contact our reception for this.
Can you drink the water from the tap?
Viennese water is high-quality mountain spring water from the Alps and can be drunk without hesitation.
Does the hotel have a restaurant?
No, we are located right in the historic center – in Vienna’s 1st district – and are surrounded by a very extensive selection of good restaurants. From star restaurants to classic Viennese pubs and numerous cafés, everything is within walking distance. Our front desk/reception will be happy to advise you and reserve your table.
Can we reserve tickets for opera/theatre/concert/events etc.?
Of course we offer this service, although we can recommend that you
let us know as early as possible before your arrival what we can reserve for you.
Is the reception staffed 24 hours?
Our reception is at your disposal 24 hours a day – so a late check-in is always possible.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
- Check out by 11:00 a.m
- Check in from 2 p.m
Can I leave my suitcases if I arrive earlier or leave later?
Yes, you are welcome to store your suitcases safely and free of charge in our luggage room.
Transfers from/to the airport?
You will find a taxi rank just outside the airport arrivals hall. The “City Transfer” counter in the arrivals hall also arranges taxis and limousines. Driving time approx. 25 minutes, price ~ € 40.00
You can order a ride to the airport from us at the hotel reception.
Is it possible to do laundry at your place, do you have a laundry service?
Yes, if we receive your laundry by 10:00 a.m. at the latest, you will find it washed and ironed in your room by around 4:00 p.m. on the same day. You can get the price list and a laundry bag for the laundry service at the hotel reception.
Is there an iron in the room?
No, for safety reasons ironing is only allowed in our salon or breakfast room – unfortunately ironing is not possible and forbidden in the room.
Can bicycles be stored in the hotel?
Guests traveling by bike have the opportunity to park them safely and free of charge in our locked inner courtyard.
Is there a bike rental?
In Vienna there is a very good network of city bikes with many stands – near Stephansplatz and at Hoher Markt or Schwedenplatz, where you can register with your bank card for only 1 €. Information at www.citybikewien.at . Otherwise, our reception can help you arrange rental bikes.
Extra cleaning fees
If the room is very dirty, we have to charge a cleaning fee of €100 or more.
We have carefully selected high-quality fabrics and wallpaper and strive to keep our house clean and attractive for all guests.
We would like to point out once again that we are a non-smoking hotel. If you smoke in the room, we also have to charge €100. Please also note that our fire alarms could go off when smoking – we are directly connected to the fire brigade – a fire brigade operation costs €400.
